Mmmmmm, KitKats are sooo yummy.
So I've been feeling kind of down since my most recent PMS attack, and I have been craving social situations. I suppose that when I'm depressed I feel best when distracted by others and conversation. My brain doesn't have a chance to take my imagination and run.
Anyways, I invited myself to hang out with my friend Agam and his friend Lorraine after work. They were meeting at Ponzu, a "Pan-Asian type of place." We met up and all had a good time talking and joking. It was all fun and games until Lorraine lost her balance on a stool while leaning over to give Agam a kiss on the cheek (completely platonic). She was understandably embarrassed, a little drunk, but not drunk enough to warrant a klutzy maneuver like that one. The two horny 40-something men behind her enjoyed the commotion, giving them an excuse to help the lady with the short skirt up off of the floor, while Agam did not. She then went on to make him feel guilty for not helping her, and instead letting the two panting dorks do the job. Unfortunately, because we were all under the influence, they both felt badly about how they behaved, which put quite a stress on the end of the night. Lorraine pretty much sent Agam home and asked me to stay behind with her, while she flirted with some not-so-cute boys and a very hot gay man. I was pretty tired at this point, but enjoyed chatting to some strangers briefly, enough so that I didn’t fall over during the conversation. Here’s where the funny part comes in… this morning, I changed my cell phone # to a 415 area code. It’s been a long awaited chore, because I’ve had a Philadelphia area code for my cell phone, which is a pain when you are using a land line. But I digress…I sent out an email with my new phone number, and Agam replies to it by clicking on, “reply all”. For those of you that don’t know, this means that every person I sent that phone number to got the following email:
Hey Kathryn
It was great seeing you yesterday. How were things after I left? I didn't feel safe leaving you with Lorraine... Lorraine thought she had to take care of you, but it was quite the opposite, Lorraine was the one who needed help, and hope it turned you helped her out! Yesterday was fun though. I felt liberated from the apartment hunt, and am finally back into the social swing of things. It was also fun complimenting both of you beautiful women and you getting embarassed. I never got a compliment in return unfortunately! We guys need it too!
And kat, your friendship is starting to mean a lot, and i'll always be
there for you. whenever you need to vent, just holler. i'm a great
listener, and will try my best to get you out of a funk! all of this at the low, low price of one pint!
