Today I had quite a strange phone call. A woman from a blood lab I recently visited called. She told me that she wanted to let me know that my glucose was high. She went on to describe the next steps, which involved another blood test after fasting, then another test after that with some high-sugar substance in my system. The lady goes on to say that this is all do to the fact that some women tend to get a specific form of diabetes when they're pregnant......insert my long and confused pause here. I asked her to repeat this for me. Being in an office full of cublicles, I say, "But I'm not." She pauses and then asks, "You're not what?"
"What you said I was, just now," I say.
She says, "This is Kathryn So-and-so, isn't it?"
Wow, that was weird. I was actually questioning myself, trying to confirm that there is no chance that she could have had the correct Kathryn. PHEWY!
