Living in SF has definitely desensitized me to homeless people, however some of them are actually visibly impaired and still get to me. I saw some man today, walking in a drunken zigzag, who had an enormous growth on his head where his eye should be. I wanted to cry, because he obviously can't clean up his life as easily as most of us. He's probably challenged when ever speaking to a person, because most probably don't feel comfortable conversing with him, regardless of his stank, grubbiness or drunken state.
